Animation Series for
Dutch Hosting Provider MijnDomein

MijnDomein is a Dutch domain and hosting provider with a playful, slightly offbeat brand, which gave me plenty to work with. I made a series of animations for them through agency BW H in Leeuwarden, who delivered the custom illustrations. My job was to bring those illustrations to life and take care of the sound design.

The series covered a few different jobs. There was a short campaign spot built purely on motion and audio FX, no voiceover. Then a longer brand story for "MijnDomein Next", tracing the company from its 2003 start through its 100,000th and 200,000th customers, and into newer ventures like mobility and energy. That one leaned on character animation and a voiceover, with a separate web version that runs on on-screen text instead of sound. And finally a punchy 10 to 15 second spot for their SEO tool, delivered in landscape, square and vertical story formats for social.

Agency BW H from Leeuwarden, The Netherlands asked me to make a series of animations for their client Mijn Domein. A domain name hosting provider. The animations are based on custom made illustrations delivered by BW H. We created the animations and audio FX.

The fun was in the details. A logo donut that appears and dissolves back into nothing, little characters waving from a moving car, a visitor graph that shoots through the roof once the SEO tool kicks in. Small, character-led moments that keep a fairly dry subject light and easy to follow, which suited the brand's "samen onafhankelijk" tone nicely.
